Saturday, Sep 23 from 8:00am to 3:00pm Wavecrest Woodie Meet
Location: Moonlight Beach, Encinitas
This is the granddaddy of all woodie meets. At Moonlight Beach at the end of Encinitas Blvd in Encinitas, CA you will experience the longest running and largest gathering of woodies in the world. Woodies begin arriving in the wee hours and by 8:00 am there are around 300 woodies of every size, shape, description on display. Throughout the day there is Hawaiian and surf music performed live, along with fabulous raffle prizes and awards for the best of the best. Time again to return to some of the finest public art in California located on the eastern edge of downtown Los Angeles. Expect to see block after block of huge murals and colorful graffiti. Location: Mataguay Scout Reservation - Hwy 79, near Santa Ysabel
Event runs Oct 13-21. Men, women and children dressed in their mountain man, Indian or even colonial outfits, gather together to do the best we can to live in the past. Primitive camps, period traders, demonstrations, competitions, music, food & drink and lots of friendly people make the Laguna Mountain Rendezvous a great place to visit. Day visitors can shop, eat, try their hand at primitive skills and enjoy the beautiful mountain setting of the rendezvous. Entry fee for visitors is $5. Dia de los Muertos is a tradition celebrated throughout Mexico and Southwest states honoring and remembering the departed. Join more than 40,000 visitors in celebrating a Mexican Fiesta filled with beautiful music, traditional satirical dancing, cultural eateries, Por Siempre Car Club, Las Ofrendas, chalk cemetery, arts and crafts for kids, a Day of Dead retail Mercado and more.
